AICLE (Content and Language Integrated Learning) Methodology Course in Higher Education

Are you a professor at the University of Almería? Would you like to participate in a training course related to language methodology?

The Plurilingualism Promotion Plan coordinated by the Vice-Chancellorship of Internationalization and Cooperation for Development is collaborating with the Teacher Training Office to organize a Methodology Course in Higher Education. The main topic of the event is CLIL: Content and Language Integrated Learning. This model is an approach for learning content through an additional language, thus teaching both the subject and the language.

The Training Course counts on 6 five-hour sessions, starting the 1st of March, until the 22nd of May. The sessions are focused on the following topics:

  • “Believing in Bilingualism and Making it work in the classroom”
  • “Multilingual Classroom Management at the university: Experiences, Strategies, Challenges”

  • “Experiences in the classroom”-Roundtable
  • “Implementation of Bilingual plans in the Engineering Degrees: Experience of Implementation at the University Carlos III of Madrid”
  • “Use of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) in Bilingual Education”

CLIL Methodology has a lot of advantages: it builds intercultural knowledge and understanding, improves language competence and oral communication skills, complements other subjects rather than competes with them and allows learners more contact with the target language.

Very experienced professionals in this area are participating in these seminars, such as Mary Griffith from the University of Malaga, Isabel Perez from the University of Granada, Emily Moore from UAB or Francisco Javier Garcia Blas from the University of Carlos III, Madrid. Some of our professors at the University of Almería are also taking part in this event to explain to us, how their experience in CLIL classes is.

Have you ever used this methodology? Share your experiences with us!

If you are interested in participating in this event, send your data (name, NIF, e-mail address) to the following e-mail address: formpdi@ual.es

Your students deserve it, make bilingual classes real!
