The Chinese New Year is the most important event of the Chinese Festivities. In China it is known as “Spring Festival”, the translation of the Chinese name: 春節
According to the Chinese tradition, every year is dedicated to a specific animal. 2012 is the year of the Dragon, and it will be marked by excitement, unpredictability, exhilaration and intensity.
Due to the internationalization of our University, the Chinese culture is getting nearer. The UAL is pleased to count on 16 Chinese students from Changchun and Pekin. They are part of the schools of Economics and Humanities and they are learning Spanish as well.
On the 24th of January, these Chinese students shared with the rest of the members of the University this special celebration. It was set a tent in the central street of the University with typical Chinese decorations, colourful lanterns and origami cranes, lucky symbols for the New Year.Lot of students and visitors could get closer to the Chinese culture and taste a typical Chinese tee and special food. Interested people had also the opportunity to know their Chinese animal in the Asian horoscope and to write their names in Chinese.
This event brought closer the Spanish and Chinese culture and made it possible to share this important celebration through different views of life.
